Harmonica Lessons with Dee Schmidt
“From the moment I first spoke to Dee, his love and appreciation for both the harmonica itself and teaching about the instrument was more than apparent. His passion for the instrument naturally seeps into our lessons and invigorates my desire to learn. Beyond that, he is incredibly committed to my growth as a beginner musician and takes every last opportunity to support the development of my skills, knowledge, and appreciation for the harmonica. He has tailored our lessons to fit my specific interests and is always curious about how to make our lessons even better than they already are. I cannot emphasize enough how supported I feel in my musical pursuit. In addition, he also has a wonderful sense of humor and is a pleasure to spend time with. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a teacher like Dee Schmidt; I sincerely recommend him to anyone interested in learning harmonica!”

“Dee Schmidt has become my harmonica teacher. I have played for some time. But, I picked up some bad habits and even though I have gotten to the point where I can play some songs pretty good, I was stuck and not able to move forward efficiently. Dee got into a discussion with me initially before we even got started. He took the time to get to know me and learn about my history, my interests, my goals and what was going on with me. He had me play something and he assessed what level I was playing at. He intuitively knew where I was and what exercises I needed to practice in order to shift and get myself back on a path to the next level. He made it fun and put me on a mission to practice a key technique that changed everything—and it was interesting to see that I could apply it across the board to everything I did. He knows everything from the basics to the really advanced techniques, but it’s his approach to teaching that makes him empathetic in a way most teachers would like to be. I have a renewed interest in playing the harmonica and I see next year as a growth year for me.”
