Harmono Piano app provides immediate practice feedback for notes and rhythms so you can avoid “building in” mistakes.
Correct notes immediately display as green and mistakes display as red. The app allows you to self-correct before mistakes become ingrained. It displays notation of your piano practice on your phone or tablet in real time by “listening” to your performance.
You can use a regular piano or digital keyboard. The app allows for recording/playback of your session so you can easily identify problem areas.
I (Howard B. Richman) think this is very cool tool for piano practice support. This is because so often students tend to inadvertently practice a section of a piece wrong, not knowing that it is wrong. So the student starts to memorize things incorrectly. It then becomes much harder down the line to “un-learn.” The Harmono Piano app helps you to avoid this negative cycle by showing you what is wrong immediately.
Cool Optional Feature
Another cool feature is you can toggle on or off the display of the note-names themselves. This feature could be helpful if you are working on a piece within your technique range but it feels too hard to read the actual notes.
Suggested Tip
I wouldn’t use this app constantly. But when you have a section of a piece you are working on that is fairly playable and you want to check yourself if you have inadvertently learned anything wrong – this app can be super helpful to give you immediate feedback of problem areas that you didn’t know you had!
