Matthew Lewis teaches banjo in Los Angeles and online. He has experience teaching private lessons, beginners to advanced students. As a banjoist, he has studied with Bill Knopf, who has been part of the California bluegrass scene for many decades. Matthew has performed at the Tarzana Community Cultural Center, as well as the Montgomery House of Music and Architecture (MAHMA) in Malibu. One of his greatest joys in his banjo study has been transcribing lots of different music for the 5-string banjo, such as many pieces by Bach, Debussy, Ravel, Charlie Parker, Chick Corea, and others.
