Madison Barrett teaches singing in Madison, WI and online. She can teach many different genres, including classical, opera (baroque to twenty first century), musical theatre, jazz, pop, R&B, country, singer/songwriter. Madison’s number one priority as a teacher is to encourage a creative, comfortable, and collaborative environment for students to explore their voice. She helps every student build a healthy foundation of technique and explore their individual artistry and musical goals. Madison is an opera singer and musical theatre performer and educator. She is currently on adjunct voice faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and previously taught at Beloit College. Madison maintains an active private studio and teaches at Maven vocal arts, Stoughton Center for the Arts, and Farley’s House of Pianos. Previous appointments include teaching at Beloit College and as an instructor at Summer Music Clinic. In addition to teaching, she is an active performer in the opera, musical theatre, and cabaret fields and was recently seen performing with companies including Madison Opera, the Ohio Light Opera, Four Seasons Theatre, the Middleton Community Orchestra, and Middleton Player’s theatre among others. She is a current Doctoral of Musical Arts candidate in Voice Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Masters of Music in Voice Performance, and received her Bachelors of Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Florida.
