Liesl Erman teaches harp in Los Angeles and online. While in high school she became a good enough harpist to get into Princeton University by sending a recording of her playing. After graduation she gigged in New York for a year before going to Yale School of Music for her master’s degree. While at Yale, Liesl won the audition for Principal Harp in the New Haven Symphony. Eventually she found her way back to Los Angeles. Liesl is passionate about live performance — symphony, theater, opera — in addition to doing studio work. She has played with just about every orchestra in southern California, most notably the LA Phil, Pacific Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony and Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra. Some of the pop acts Liesl has accompanied include Johnny Mathis, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Michael Bolton. She also has enjoyed playing shows at the Ahmanson and the Pasadena Playhouse.
