Justin Bartoo teaches Composition/Production, Arranging, Music Theory, Music Technology, Film Scoring, Music Notation and Orchestration in New Haven, CT, NYC Metro are and online. He has been a full-time composer for media and stage for the last 10 years. Before that, he spent 12 years as a music and production director at a variety of artistic venues. In school, Justin studied film-scoring and music technology at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, and music composition at the Juilliard School in New York City. Justin’s training and experience allow him to bring together a number of diverse musical influences. He is passionate about telling stories and creating artistic experiences that connect with people in a deeply emotional way. As a child, Justin always loved science and technology. He spent a lot of time programming and coding, and has a strong sense of math and the fundamentals of computer science. Since many people, today, use software for their writing, arranging, and production, this knowledge has been very helpful. His ability to meld both classical and contemporary schools of training proves very useful to his students. He has university-level training in classical composition and arranging, but I also has an equal amount of training in modern music production techniques. This gives him a number of varied “tools” in his “musical toolbox.”
