iliana Rose teaches jazz/pop/classical piano, jazz voice clarinet, music theory, songwriting, music technology, music notation online She believes that learning music should be fun no matter the age or level of the student. iliana tailor-makes each lesson to the individual in order to maximize their learning potential. Born in Miami and raised by Cuban parents and grandparents. Iliana Rose is steeped in Cuban rhythms and culture. Being a genuine prodigy she started playing piano at the age of four. After years of classical training, Iliana graduated from the prestigious University of Miami with performance degrees in Studio Music & Jazz Voice and Clarinet. She also graduated from the National Guild of Piano. Iliana moved to Los Angeles and began her musical career in L.A. by performing at festivals corporate shows, weddings and fundraisers with her band, The iliana Rose Cuban Jazz Band. For four years Iliana was the keyboard player on the national T.V. show, Noches Con Platanito and eventually became their musical director. Currently she is the musical director for the esteemed 12 piece Arsenio Rodriguez Project, musical director for her own band, The iliana Rose Cuban Jazz Band, as well as musical director for LA’s hottest all female salsa orquestra, Las Chikas. Her band members are some of the finest musicians in Los Angeles including Richie Garcia, Calixto Oviedo, Munyungo Jackson and Jimmy Branly to name a few. Iliana has composed music for films and arranged songs for Latin jazz bands with up to twenty five pieces. She has produced full length CD’s and also has played recording sessions. As a singer her voice is pure, warm, sensual and beautiful to listen to. Iliana sings in five languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew and Portuguese). Vocally she has the unique rhythmic ability to phrase riffs perfectly which is a gift only given to a natural-born jazz singers.
