Garo Avessian teaches Conducting, Music Theory, Composition, Music Notation, Orchestration, Piano and Music History in the San Fernando Valley and online. He applies well-structured, proven approaches that demystify complex topics and gives students practical tools for fast and lasting progress. Garo specializes in making complex musical ideas both clear and accessible. Garo Avessian is an award-winning conductor, composer, and educator with an international career spanning Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is the First and Grand Prize winner of the 14th Danube International Conducting Masterclass and Competition (2018) in Budapest, Hungary. Garo has conducted numerous orchestras across both regions. His works are published internationally, and he is frequently invited to serve as a jury member for international music competitions. He holds two master’s degrees — one in Symphonic & Opera Conducting and the other in Composition — and is currently pursuing his doctoral studies. Outside of music, he enjoys sports, theatre, and philosophy — believing that great artistry is nourished by inspiration, discipline and dramatic curiosity.
