Dohoon Kim teaches singing, composition and music theory in the Santa Clarita Valley and online. He has been teaching music since 2023. He aims to make abstract concepts concrete, using visuals, real music examples, and step-by-step explanations. He enjoys helping students to discover their natural voice and to build confidence through proper technique. Dohoon was once offered a K-pop idol contract by JYP Entertainment, one of Korea’s top K-pop agencies – a testament to his talent and potential as a performer. He brings that same level of industry insight and vocal excellence to his teaching. Dohoon is currently a music major at CalArts. He is a teaching assistant in music theory, supporting students in understanding core concepts of tonal harmony. Dohoon also loves exploring how math, language, and art all intersect in sound — especially in songwriting and arranging.
