David Peck teaches music technology, film scoring, orchestration and music notation in Brooklyn, NY, surrounding areas and online. At Wesleyan University, he synthesized his knowledge from various online tutorials and articulated an original curriculum to teach live electronic performance on DJ equipment, revitalizing what was once a floundering extracurricular organization. Once launched, dozens of prospective students flocked to his lessons. Later, in the Music Technology masters program at NYU, he helped engineer multiple sessions weekly and while immersing himself in a self-tailored education in film scoring and sound design. He has a knack for supporting young music makers’ fledgling artistic voices by engaging their unique tastes and bridging them to the tech. David believes that in order to bring the vastness of your sonic imagination into reality, you have to make music technology work for you, and not the other way around.
