Charles Fernandez teaches bassoon, composition, orchestration, conducting and music notation in the San Fernando Valley and online. He has taught at Thickspace Education (London), UCLA Extension, Los Angeles County High School of the Arts. He has a Bachelor’s in Music degree from Loyola University, Masters in bassoon performance from UCLA, Performer’s Certificate from Royal College of Music, London. Charles has composed for television series such as Disney’s: Little Mermaid, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians, Bonkers and Doug; Amblin/Universal’s Casper Cartoon Series (For which he received two Emmy and one Annie Nomination); Dreamworks’ Toonsylvania; Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, among others. Among films he’s written for are Doug’s 1st Movie/Disney; Aladdin III/Disney; The Pebble and the Penguin/MGM; All Dogs Go To Heaven II/MGM; Aladdin and the King of Thieves/Disney; All Dogs Christmas Carol/MGM; Babes in Toyland/MGM; Tom Sawyer/MGM; Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein/Universal; The New Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbalina/Artisan; Jingle Bells/Artisan and The Tangerine Bear/Artisan. Additionally he’s been orchestrator on many many trailers, including the James Bond films Casio Royale and Spectre. Currently, Charles Fernandez is chief conductor and arranger for the Moorpark Symphony and the Song of the Angels Flute Orchestra. Also arranger for VOPA, San Luis Obisbo Symphony, Lompoc.
