Anders Nordstrom teaches music technology, songwriting, music theory, music history and guitar in New York City and online. He believes that art is strong and inclusive: “study and absorb all that challenges you, but then try to do it yourself!” He is comfortable with every genre imaginable, including rock, classical, hip-hop, R&B, electronic, pop, and broadway. Anders has experience on and off the stage, with as much focus on in-studio recording, mixing, and mastering as live sound and audiovisual technology. He initially honed his craft as the lyricist, singer, rhythm guitarist, and engineer of the group Manhattan (originally Police State). Despite humble beginnings and minimal outside funding, he spearheaded multiple independent record releases and national tours. NYU Steinhardt’s Music Technology program solidified Anders’ love of engineering and expanded his horizons regarding the myriad applications of musical composition, production, and technology.
