Aidin Ahmadi Nejad teaches cello and coaches chamber music in West Hills, CA. His passion is to combine the technical with the musical, along with theory, music history, art history and other elements to help achieve success on the instrument. His special attitude towards performance has led him to a lifetime study of various realms he utilizes in his music-making, which are science, history, aesthetics, historically aware performance practice and theory of performance. He has authored many published articles on music. Aidin was born in Tehran, Iran. He studied cello there with Abbas Zahireddini, Iranian renowned cellist, and Aram Talalyan. He started his professional career as a member of Tehran Symphonic Orchestra, and after that he co-founded Parsian Chamber Orchestra, which he has been its principal cellist, artistic director, and conductor for the last 12 years. He has held numerous concerts in his homeland and some other countries as soloist, chamber musician and conductor in collaboration with famous instrumentalists such as Khachik Babayan, Raphael Minaskanian, and Christopher Stembridge. In his last years in Tehran symphony, he was selected as principal cello under Maestro Alexander Rahbari. He was also a member of Arvand string quartet, which one of its aims was to familiarize ordinary people with the Classical music by holding free concerts in venues other than usual concert places. The project “Mozart in Town” was admired by many people who had never been in touch with live classical music. With this quartet were some of the compositions of Iranian composers premiered and recorded. Before moving to the United states, he lived for 4 years in Vienna-Austria, where he played chamber music of Brahms, Shostakovich, Dvorak & … in recitals in various cities. There he was a permanent member of Bamdad piano trio and a Hollabrun based string quartet. After moving to the United States, he is active as a freelance musician, teacher and recording artist. He participated in concerts of the Enlightenment music series, a profound series of chamber and orchestral events contributing to make the classical music reachable to any audience.
