Nicolas Garcia teaches guitar and ukulele in Glendale, Pasadena, East San Fernando Valley, and parts of Los Angeles. He’s been on the teaching staff of Guitar Center since 2014 but also enjoys teaching private students. Nick adapts his teaching style to the needs of the student, based on the students’ goals and aptitude. He likes to incorporate technique, sight-reading and music theory as appropriate to help support those goals.
Nick has been a professional musician with the guitar being his primary instrument for over thirty years. His styles range from jazz (bebop and fusion), classical, funk, heavy metal, blues, to originally-composed flamenco-influenced acoustic guitar compositions. He has performed in such clubs like the Parish Room at the House of Blues, The Whisky a Go Go, Nolas A taste of New Orleans, and more. Nick is an Alumnus of Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, having graduated with honors in the one year Guitar Institute of Technology program. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz studies in performance, and Master of Music degree in commercial music in performance from California State University, Los Angeles.
